Kiva.org
Now this web-site is pretty cool. Kiva is a non-profit organization that makes it EASY for any shmoe to help ease the burden of poverty through micro-credit. You go to their site, pick a business plan, donate the amount you want, and as the business grows you get updated on their status and get your money back to loan to somebody else.
