Boise Water Park

Surfin' this kid has no fear of water--he floats face down????
I know I cut off Matt's head but you have to look at the expressions (they come out fast)

Hangin with grandpa

I know this is a little (or a lot scary) but I was there, but only half wet. Jamie was there too.

Here's one just for you Hayden!

Jeffrey and I got to feed (throw carrots to) Reba, the Asian Elephant, at the zoo! She's 39 years old (older than me!) and retired from the circus. She's doesn't like to be around the other elephants, so she had the playground all to herself. Right now, she's working on a puzzle to try and get her treats out of the barrell. The fun fact we learned was that you can tell what type of elephant it is based on the ear shape: ears shaped like Asia = Asian Elephants, ears shapred like Africa = African Elephants.
You can see other pictures of our zoo trips on our family website, but this one was my favorite. Our zoo pass runs out in March, so we're trying to use it all we can until then. Hayden, there are more pictures of all the zoo's elephants and videos about them on the zoo's website.

At the Temple

Jamie and I took the boys to breakfast while the men went to a meeting and then for a little walk around the square.
My Favorite! When do I come in?
Maybe my brother can help me? Well, a big brother maybe

This one belongs with the zoo group, but I'm a little technologically challenged and seem to only be able to add 5 pictures per post

The Zoo

This picture says it all. Hayden loves animals--not his costume--day b4 Halloween
Wild animals everywhere

Jakers! Just happy to be there.

Not everyone is brave enough to share ice cream with Grandpa. But they are best buds. Hayden called today and share some very exciting news with Grandpa. Unfortunately we're not exactly sure what it was he said.

Now who is it that's eating this ice cream. Dad is giving him as much help as possible.

Jake's Blessing

This is the only picture I have. The group picture was taken with another camera. Matt gave a beautiful blessing. It was so wonderful to be with the babies. We missed the Bassetts and Peter. We had a dinner after. Tried some new recipes. This is the one we really liked.

Mixed Bean Dip (also works as a bean salad) Emy's recipe
Bring to a boil for one minute:
2/3 cup cider vinegar
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1 Tablespoon water
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1 Tablespoon salt
Cool then pour over the bean mixture
Drain, rinse and combine one can of each:
Black-eyed peas (we used frozen)
Small kidney beans
black beans
small white beans
White corn (we used frozen)
Dice small and add:
Sweet onion
Celery
Sweet Pepper (any color)
Refrigerate at least overnight. Can be made up to 2 days before serving. Serve with Fritos--that's the best.
---4 days later, this was still really good bean salad. Yum
It makes a lot.
Thanks Emy for sharing

Winter Wonderland

Santa's little helper:

Hayden is really enjoying his tongue these days. It's really fun to watch.
This is the cabin where we spent our very white Christmas. If you can't tell the long metal thing on the hill in front of the cabin is a 150 ft slide! ...Lots of fun...

This is Matt flying off the jump we made at the end of the slide!
This is me after my pathetic attempt to snowboard.

The only thing surrounding the cabin are mountains. These are us climbing one of them.

"Mommy" Jessica

It was great having Jessica with us; she is such a great help. Hayden loved the non-stop attention. We miss her already.
