Dad's new weight loss: not for the faint of heart!

These are some of the images that the doctor took. The white one on the bottom is inside the knee area before the big incision. The white hairy and bumpy stuff is arthritis. The top right is the opening. The pictures on the left are after the mass was removed. It had two pieces. With the little ruler, you can see the size. It was bigger than the doctor thought it would be. It was bone and cartilidge. We saw it but could not touch it--it is going to the lab. It was not attached to anything. It had pushed dad's knee cap over to the side. Everything seems to have gone back where it is supposed to be. Dad is resting but can put weight on his leg. He has a crutch for support. He should lay low for a week, when he goes back to the doctor to have the dressing changed. The doctor said in the future he will have to replace the knee but for now all is well. He doesn't expect any tumor type problems. Dad is doing really well.
